FARMERS MARKET POSITION AVAILABLE FOR 2024 SEASON! APPLY NOW.

About the Farm

At 3 acres in cultivation, we are an incredibly small and intimate farm. We farm without a four-wheel tractor, which means everything is done by hand, with simple tools, or with the help of our walking tractor. Think wheelbarrows, hoes, rakes, your two hands. We grow a diversity of crops but specialize in microgreens, salad greens, fresh roots, bunched greens, and greenhouse crops. While we sell wholesale to our local food coops and some restaurants, we grow primarily for our farmers markets and CSA program. We will be doing two farmers markets in peak season, along with a 125+ member CSA, and wholesale orders. The farm is located 10 minutes from downtown Olympia.

about you

Applicants should desire to work on a small-scale, high production vegetable farm. Our ideal applicant is someone who thinks they might someday want to be in our shoes, or has a passion to try. You must be in good physical and mental condition, with the ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds and work consecutive 8+ hour days on your feet, using your body. Sometimes this means working in the rain and wind, other times it means hot, dry, and sunny — you will work in it all. Ideal candidates are passionate about food, vegetables, being outside, working hard. You must be able to work efficiently alone and in a team as your days will almost always encompass both types of work. Repetitive tasks cannot drive you crazy. We live for the hustle and take pride in the skill and craftsmanship needed to do the job well. To do well on our farm, you must work quickly and efficiently, be detail oriented, communicate thoughtfully and take pride in the farm’s success. You will need to be able to listen, follow directions, and learn. We want our employees to see the beauty and importance of our work and to find the humor in the hard parts. Farming is not easy, but it is overwhelmingly beautiful and relentlessly gratifying.
